Dear Robert, Maggie, Elizabeth, James, Ann, Carol, John Jeanne, and Marilyn,  As the Director of Alumni Relations Emeritus at Saint Viator High School, I offer you the sympathy and prayers of the Saint Viator High School community as Father's Day approaches.  Know that you are in our prayers as you continue to share the stories, laugh and cry, and find ways to celebrate the life of your father/your brother and the love you shared.  I felt blessed to be able to celebrate Robert’s life at the Mass.  We are certainly proud to “claim” this sensitive, kind, loyal man of faith, whose interests revolved around his children’s lives, as an alumnus.  I am reminded of a reading from the Book of Sirach.  Let us praise an illustrious man, 	faithful to his family and friends, strong in his love. At peace in his heart and his world, he has left us his good name, and we recount his life of praiseworthy 			deeds. A generous man his good works will never be forgotten. Among his family and friends remains a rich inheritance born of him…. His name lives on from generation to generation. We gather to sing his praises. We proclaim his wisdom and love of life all our days.  We want you to know that Saint Viator will remember Robert and celebrate the fact that he continues to be a member of our community at our annual Alumni Memorial Mass, which will be celebrated this year on Sunday, November 6, at Saint Viator High School in the Alumni Memorial Chapel.  Information about this will be available at SaintViator.com in the Alumni section in the fall.  As is tradition, we will be ordering a plaque with Robert’s name to prayerfully honor him on the Alumni Memorial Wall in our chapel along with the names of other deceased alumni from Saint Viator and Sacred Heart of Mary.  Also, Robert’s name will be listed in the "In Memoriam" section of the summer issue of our news magazine, A Lion for Life.   May memories of your father/your brother and the love you shared comfort you! May the knowledge that he lives on in your goodness give you peace and hope! Our sincere sympathy on your loss.   I would see Rob many, many nights as I walked home from the train.  He would be outside in the driveway enjoying his day.  We'd share a brief update on the Cubs or whatever youth sport I was going to that night.   May eternal life shine upon him.

Rob was one in a lifetime person, he changed lives of those lucky to get to know him. He will be missed every day and prayed for.

Bob was one of the nicest guys in our OLW graduation class of 1977. He always had a smile on his face. Heaven just received another angel

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Rob.  We were coworkers for many years at Walgreens, and I also regarded him as a friend. His sense of humor  brightened up the workplace. Wishing you strength and peace during this difficult time.

My sincere condolences to the entire McCabe family.  I worked with Rob as a vendor while he was at Walgreens, and this turned into a friendship.  He was an honest, direct and sincere person.  I will miss his candor and wit.  RIP Rob.

I knew Rob well from going to College with him. We were in different circles but connected on music. We soon became fast friends. Great, outgoing person who was full of life. This saddens me immensely. Thoughts, prayers and love to the family.
