Rob and I became friends back in first grade at Hoffman School over half a century ago. Rob was a smaller kid and not especially popular in first grade, but I still clearly recall being one of a lucky trio- him, myself, and Roger Roberg- at his birthday on a horrifically dismal February Saturday back in 1964. His father was without a doubt one of the kindest, nicest dads in all of suburbia back then. Despite the all the ugliness of the foul weather surrounding us that day, he couldn't have been more pleasant as he took the three of us to a Saturday matinee at the Golf Mill Theatre. We watched a film featuring live animals in all the character roles, and doing a horrific job of acting. Due to that, the movie panned majorly, so before we even left the theatre my six-year old mind had forever forgotten the title. Mr. Price laughed through the entire thing, though. He was a damn good man, Mr. Price; aptly stated here that: "Only the good die young." Though Rob's father died way before his time, that indefatigable spirit was not lost on Rob, even after his father passed away as suddenly and unexpectedly. Rob and I lost touch over the years of this turbulent life here on Earth, yet our friendship immediately rekindled whenever we met. He had tons of untapped potential and talent in so very, very many ways, as so many of us do. His kindness, fairness, uniquely tough brand of joyfulness, and utter refusal to give in to setbacks or to despair, came to mind after a mutual friend described his great spirit and attitude right up until the very end of this life of his. We'll all miss you in this life, old friend, and hope to see you again in the next one!

Rob, John and I had many adventures. Rob's top two were.............In 1970's Rob picked me up at O'Hare Airport from a red eye flight from Florida and we got stuck in the elevator. Instantly Rob went bananas yelling, pushing buttons and screaming in the middle of the night. I think he ended up losing his voice. Rob just knew we were stuck till morning. Well, we were stuck for an hour which I admit seemed like hours. The other was when he was staying with myself and husband and he helped drive our 1970 Chevy SS from Glenview to Mpls. in the winter. I'll miss you cuz..................... love Deb

Cousin Rob, Some of my fondest memories were Fourth of July at your house when we were kids. I'm glad after all those passing years we found you on the web. John, you have been an amazing brother caring for Rob these past months. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Kathy nee Schwark
