A veteran of the U.S. Navy and proud graduate of Carthage College and Northwestern University Dental School. Bob‘s finest accomplishment was capturing the heart of and marrying Sarah McGrath. Together for 69 years they raised five children: Margaret (Richard) Curry, Nancy, Julie (Patrick) Mulchrone, Susan and Matthew (Judy). He also had 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandkids. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Erma Schnell.
Bob was a true friend to many and one you could always count on. Aside from a long career as a dentist, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, all Chicago sports and being a handyman for anyone in need. Many of his fondest memories were from his time as a Boy Scout, which included earning the Order of the Arrow, achieving Eagle Scout & winning the Silver Beaver Award. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Salvation Army. A private memorial will be held.
