Ross V Oddo

Ross V. Oddo, 86, of Schaumburg, IL and Tarpon Springs, FL, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025. Ross was born on May 24, 1939, to the late James V. and Sophie (née Intravartolo) Oddo. He was the loving brother of James Paul Oddo (Kathleen) and the late Robert J. Oddo; cherished uncle of Robert (Genevieve), AnnMarie, and Jonathan (Laurie); and devoted great-uncle of Landon Meress, Joseph, Edmund, Sophie, and Chloe Oddo.

Ross was a dedicated finance professional who earned his master's degree in finance from DePaul University. His career in finance was marked by the same attention to detail and commitment that characterized every aspect of his life.

A passionate golfer, Ross, found his paradise on the golf courses of Florida, where he spent his winters perfecting his game and enjoying the sunshine. Each summer, he would return to Illinois to be close to his family.

Ross had a true passion for sports that extended far beyond his own golf game. A devoted Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, he could often be found watching games and sharing his enthusiasm with anyone who would listen. As an uncle, he took great joy in teaching his nieces and nephews about sports, passing on his love of the game to the next generation. He even coached his nephew's baseball team, instilling values of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Despite his many interests and accomplishments, Ross was fundamentally a man who found joy in life's everyday pleasures. He had a well-known love for Portillo's Italian beef sandwiches and never missed an opportunity to enjoy this Chicago favorite.

Ross will be remembered for his generous spirit, his dedication to family, his love of sports, and his ability to find happiness in life's simple moments. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his kindness, mentorship, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved.
