Stanley Bobowski Jr., 94, died May, 16, 2024. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Trudy; loving father of Stanley III (Debbi), Steve (Renee Martin), and Chris (Tom Tyler); beloved grandfather of Bridget, Nicole, Zack, Stan IV, and Clint; beloved great-grandfather of Payton, Alexander, Graceson, Connor and Ryan. He was born to the late Stanley and Angeline, and is survived by his sister Elaine, and predeceased by his brother Ed. He was born in Chicago, went to old St. Pat's H.S. and graduated from St. Mary's College in Winona, MN.
Stan enjoyed a career of 39 years with Motorola. Stan began his career in communication sales in West Texas, and over the years, was promoted to a series of sales management roles. After a short "retirement" Stan obtained his real estate license and sold homes for Starck & Co. in their Barrington office.
For the past few years Stan was a member of St. Martin of Tours in Franklin, WI. Prior to that, he was an active member of St. James Parish (Arlington Hts.) for over 45 years. While he was a long-term member of St. James Parish he was a faithful Eucharistic Minister for over 25 years.
Stan was an avid Chicago sports fan. He was a Bears and Cubs season ticket holder for many years. The Cubs 2016 World Series win was an especially happy event for Stan.
While Stan loved watching the Bears and Cubs, his true passion was watching his grandchildren play baseball, football, soccer and softball. Stan managed to watch each grandchild play each and every sport and loved every minute, in good weather and bad. "Good throws win ball games and bad throws lose ball games" was an often heard and cringe-inducing expression.
Stan made great efforts and took great pride in having specially prepared and decorated birthday cakes for his family and he always delivered bakery goods to everyone.
He was a great mentor and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
