Stanley M. Kilian

Of Arlington Heights

Stan Kilian was born May 23, 1937 in Chicago to Teofil and Victoria (nee Sivek) Kilian. He died January 1, 2022 at his home in Arlington Heights.

Stan was a devoted husband to his cherished wife Mimi of nearly 61 years. As a father and grandfather, Papa germinated his passion for camping, boating and experiencing the outdoors into the lives of children and grandchildren. Anyone that knew Stan, knew of his passion for Chicago Sports. He was proud of his academic and athletic achievements at Fenwick High School. Stan was an excellent basketball player. Not only was he the Captain of the Fenwick basketball team, but he went on to play basketball for the late Ray Meyer at DePaul University. Stan was an advocate for youth athletics, especially girls’ sports.

Stan was the devoted father of Sherry M. (Bentley) Patterson, Lori K. Connelly, Victoria L. Kilian, the late Christopher Michael and Michael Paul Kilian; dear grandfather of Olivia Grace and Zachary Kilian (Felicia) White, Jacob Frazier (Miranda) White, Ellen Victoria White, Kevin Michael, Michaela Kathleen, Denis Joseph, Elena Mary, Caroline Marina, and Christian John Connelly; loving great grandfather of Amatiel Aurora Fontannaz, and Jax Joseph White.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara (nee Fier) Kilian; his siblings Ann Pawula and Hank Kilian and by his parents.

Visitation from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd.,1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois. Prayers 9:15 am, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Funeral Home, proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois for Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment private.
