Susan Shirley Dattilo was born on August 3, 1972 in Park Ridge, IL to Harry and Hattie (nee Doering) Batjes. She died on November 30, 2022.

Susie was a Vice President with JCD Real Estate Consultants. Prior to that, she worked at Mount Prospect Public Library, Arlington Heights Library and Harris Associates.

Susie was a light in the lives of everyone that knew her. She was the ribbon that bound her family together. She raised her three children with so much love, and she and her husband did everything together. When she entered a room, she brought peace and warmth, and she made her family’s house a home. She had a strong faith, and she taught her kids about Jesus. For her entire life, she didn’t miss a moment of her husband and kids’ lives. She helped her husband run his business, keeping everything neat and organized. She was there for bedtime stories, math homework, recitals, concerts, trips to the library and grocery store, movie nights, dinners, car trips.

Every single moment will be different without her. She had the kindest heart of anyone, and we were blessed beyond measure to have had her in our lives.

She will always be our Susie. Always and forever.

Susie is survived by her husband of 27 years John Dattilo; her children Emily, Johnny and Elyse Dattilo; as well as her sisters Julie (Craig) Bowers and Kathleen (Dave) Wright; as well as her nieces and nephew Angelo, Rachel, Julia, Sarah and Adriana.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00am at St. Peter Lutheran Church 111 West Olive Street, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment at Memory Gardens will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Susan S. Dattilo foundation, which her family is in the process of establishing. The foundation will help all kinds of animals who are struggling. If you would like to learn more about this, please contact John at [email protected].
