Sylvia Ann Bogart was born August 8,1934 in New York, NY to Joseph G. and Helen M. (nee Wagner) Faltz. She passed away on October 11, 2021, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Sylvia, a New Englander by birth and at heart, was a lifelong contributor and learner. As a Midwest transplant, Sylvia looked for opportunities to give back to the communities she lived in. In the mid 70’s, Sylvia demonstrated her leadership by founding the Buffalo Grove Junior Woman’s Club. In 1992 Sylvia graduated with an English Degree from Elmhurst College and spent the next 25 years happily teaching English as a Second Language to people from all over the world. Sylvia was beloved by many of her students and co-teachers, and she returned their affection. A voracious reader, Sylvia remained inquisitive and continued to pursue new learning opportunities.
Sylvia is survived by her loving family; her children, Lesley McCain, Stephen (Julie) Bogart, and Maire Frances (Glen) Williams; her grandchildren Michael (MacKenzie), Ryan (Hanna), Miller, Payton(Eduardo), Natalie, Nicholas (Amber), and her sister Barbara Barbieri (John).
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert E. Bogart and her parents.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd Arlington Heights IL. from 9:00 until 10:15 AM followed by Mass at 11am at St Mary’s Church 50 N Buffalo Grove Rd, Buffalo Grove IL. Interment at St. Mary Parish Cemetery.
