William George Holzapfel

Of Arlington Heights

William G. Holzapfel was born on March 6, 1933 in Chicago to William and Marianne (nee Donner) Holzapfel. He died Sunday, September 23, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Holzapfel served in the United States Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. William worked as an engineer for AT&T in the Chicagoland area for over 30 years. He loved to travel with his wife and was an avid handyman. William loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and was loved by all.

William is survived by his children, William (Lynnann) Holzapfel, John (Jill) Holzapfel, Thomas (Lisa) Holzapfel and Liane (Jayson) Hunter; grandchildren Shelby Holzapfel, Nicole Holzapfel, Billy Holzapfel, Andrew Holzapfel, Samantha Holzapfel, Thomas Holzapfel, Jr., Hailey Hunter and Kenzie Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan E. Holzapfel; son, Robert Holzapfel; his parents; and sister Carol (Charles) Fisher.

Visitation Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment is private.
