A Life of Adventure and Dedication
Born in Fort Benning, Georgia, June grew up with a spirited heart. She graduated from Early County High School in Blakely, Georgia, before pursuing her education at business school in Atlanta. It was in Atlanta, while working for The Coca-Cola Company, that she met Clyde Young. At the time, Clyde was a dual-sport athlete playing football and baseball for Georgia Tech. They married in 1954, beginning a journey that would take them across the globe.
As a dedicated military wife, June navigated the world with grace, supporting her family through many moves before finally settling in Huntsville, Alabama, in 1972. Huntsville remained her home for over 50 years.
Passions and Legacy
June was a woman of vibrant energy. She was an avid golfer and bowler, and she found great peace and joy tending to her flowers. Above all, she was a devoted mother who was deeply involved in her children’s lives, particularly as a mainstay at their many sports endeavors.
