ARLINGTON, TEXAS -- Armando Talamantes, 61, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ and his Holy Father unexpectedly, Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Arlington. Interment will follow in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with rosary at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Armando was born November 17, 1948. He had great pride and love for his family. He served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a very hard worker, and was an employee of General Motors for 30 years. Armando was also a lifetime UAW member and had retired in April 2009. He enjoyed photography, cooking, all types of music, western movies, and especially spending time with his wife and family. He was beginning to learn how to play the guitar. Armando loved to tell life stories and loved God. Armando will be forever remembered for his smile, his laugh, and his incredible work ethic.
Armando was preceded in death by his mother, Anita, father, Daniel, sister, Viola, and brother-in-law, Joe.
Survivors: Wife of 37 years, Rosa; sons, Armando (Chrystena) and Tony; daughters, Diana (Robbie), Laura (Edgar) and Rosi; grandchildren, Angela, Andres, Aly and Mylie; brothers, Jesus, Sisto; sisters, Elena, Lile (Gilberto), Lupe, San Juanita (Ricardo), Thelma (Mario); in-laws, Francisco and Anastacia Vargas; many brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other beloved family members and friends.
