Chief Riley was the person who guided us through the Arlington Citizens Fire Academy. That was such an unbelievable and eye-opening experience going through everything that the fire men do on a daily basis. He was a very kind man and I always thought very highly of him. I am so sad to hear this news. RIP Chief Riley.

Chief Riley was loved by the Colleyville Citizen's Fire Academy Alumni Association.  He supported us and enjoyed being part of our fund-raising activities; most years while with the CFD you could find him cooking hamburgers and hotdogs at the annual open house.  He was such a kind and gentle man; he will be missed.  Until we meet again Chief in the Kingdom of Heaven, may you rest in peace.

Those of us who loved Brian will carry his memory with us always. Brian was the Fire Department. It was in his DNA. He loved being a part of their special community. When I see a fire truck or them racing to an emergency I think of our Brian. How proud he was of his service and what they did in the community. He fought a hard fight this past year and it was time for him to be at peace. With Lori, Jon and Josh at his side he left this earthly realm and now he is free. I’ve rewritten this too many times to count… I wish I could share photos but the site limits to only 5 & rather than 1 post where you can view them all, it would share as 5 different postings which I do not want to do. Having said that, I honestly don’t know where to even begin. Those who knew my dad, knew he was someone special. Honorable. Respectful. Respectable, Honest. Hard-working. Smart. Funny. Responsible. Intelligent. The list goes on, never-ending. The man he was to all was no different than the man he was at home. He loved his wife, my mom. He loved his kids. He never made us feel otherwise, even on the days where we were in trouble. He was truly the best dad a son could ever ask for. If not for the teachings he made a point for us to learn, but simply by leading by example in both his own behavior and stature. Me and my brother both were inspired to be just like him. I can honestly write a novel. I genuinely appreciate all whom share their stories and leave a photo. To know he impacted others just as much as he did us at home, it means more than any of y’all who post will know. Thank you & thank you dad… Thank you God for blessing my life with Brian J. Riley. I’m so grateful to have had 29 years with him on this Earth. I look forward to seeing him again in the distant future, or rather, whenever you deem it time for me to come Home as well. I pray he’s happy at your side Lord. I pray everyone who’s affected by my dad’s passing and currently grieving receives your healing touch. I love you dad. Give grandma, grandpa and aunt Brenda a big hug and kiss for me. Thank you all again who posted & shared. I wish I could write more but 2,000 characters wouldn’t be enough. Just know, he was as special and loved by his family as all others whom had the blessing and privilege to know him outside of family. There will never be another Brian John Riley. Thank you all again for sharing. I hope to read many many more.

We went to our high school prom together with other band members in 1975,  Brian and I were lucky enough to see each other a couple of times over the years considering the geographical difference.  We had a lot of good times together over many years.

Brian and I met in the 5th grade at the Morey School in 1967. We both started playing trumpet in the school bands at that time. I am standing next to Brian in the above photo. I was so tall compared to others then! We spent years together taking band trips to New York City with the Sacred Heart Band where we got a little mischievous one time with balloons full of water.  We were on the 8th floor of the hotel.

Bri Ri was my Lt. @ Sta. 8.  He was a great officier and cared deeply for his crew. A pleasure to work with. You will be missed. Thanks for all you did at the AFD.

Working with Brain (Bri-Ri) wash one of the many pleasures with AFD Haz Mat.  Lot's of fun and all business when the bell rang.  I'm saddened of your passing and glad we got to see and share memories in you last days.  You will be missed and never forgotten.  May God Bless and Keep You Beneath His Wings.  RIP Brian.

Brian was the Captain at station 6 B shift at Arlington when I transferred there in 1991. I had so much respect for him through my years there and recall how happy I was for him when he promoted to Battalion Chief. We all hated to see him leave the team, but we were excited to have him in upper management to make a difference for us on the line.  Those were some of the best years in my career at Arlington Fire and it was in large part due to Brian. Thank you Brian for your dedication to your crews and to the citizens of the cities you served.

Chief Riley was always very kind and had such a warm smile.  This world will truly miss this man as will all of us who knew him.
