

Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Saturday at Fielder Road Baptist Church, 2201 South Fielder. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Carl was born Sept. 1, 1955, in Hot Springs, Ark. He graduated from Texarkana, Ark., High School in 1973. Carl married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Garlene, his wife of 34 years. They moved to Arlington in 1975. Carl continued his education and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Texas Wesleyan University. He and his wife owned LaserCopy Printing Company located in Great Southwest Industrial Park in Arlington. Carl's dream was to be in the printing business at an early age and thrived on the cutting edge of technology for his business. His employees became his extended family. His passion in life included being with his family and friends in all walks of life. He especially enjoyed the latest technical toys, such as the new ipad, iphone and Mac computers. He vacationed with family and took annual trips with his son Brandon to various adventures. He was a man admired and loved by so many in his field of business. He was much appreciated for his integrity, character, sense of humor and the ability to make contacts among so many people. He treated everyone with great respect in return. He was a devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend and an honorable man.
Survivors: Wife, Garlene Byrd; son, Brandon Byrd; daughter, Brittany Byrd; favorite sister-in-law, Carolyn Morgan; and a host of family and friends.
