

David L. Christian, Jr., was born on September 9, 1946. He was the first child born to Mr. and Mrs. David and Lena Christian in Memphis, Tennessee. David graduated from Manassas High School in 1964, while also being a trumpet player in their high school band.
David was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on June 28, 1969 in Lake Michigan in Chicago, Illinois. On July 15, 1976, David was married to his loving "Honey" Shirley. He loved lending a helping hand, even going on to help build this exact Kingdom Hall in 2003. When asked how he was doing, he'd always say, "oh, fine as a bottle of wine!" His passion was being a truck driver from 1978 to 2023 (45 years). He was a wonderful, loving husband, devoted father, and a proud grandfather.
David passed away on February 21, 2025. He was 78 years old. David was preceded in death by his father, David Lee Christian, Sr.; mother, Lena Mae Christian; brother, Stanley Christian; sisters, Phyllis Anderson and Gail Jones; as well as his half-sister, Tabitha Short.
David leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Shirley Christian of Arlington, Texas; his son, David Christian III (Dina) of Arlington, Texas; his daughter, Jessica Lightell (Bruce) of Arlington, Texas; 2 brothers, Floyd Christian of Memphis, TN and Ralph Christian (Elizabeth) of Memphis, TN; 4 grandchildren, Giovanni, Cameron, Dorian, and Julien. David's memory will be cherished and remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, in-laws and a large spiritual family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2101 E Mayfield Road, Arlington, Texas 76104 at 3:00 PM.
