Douglas Charles Brown – “Doug” - of Arlington, Texas passed away on April 12, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born on October 27, 1949, in Monroe, Louisiana, where he grew up with his mother Mary, father Herbert, and younger brother Gordon. He graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a degree in Political Science. He was a retired United States Postal Inspector after serving for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Theresa Brown; son Scott and his wife, Cally; and daughter Carrie Brown Lord and her husband, Khris; grandchildren Ryan, Hannah, and Molly Brown and Brycen and Caleb Lord; brother Gordon Brown and his wife, Mimi; and nephews Joshua, Andrew, and Erik and their wives.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Rush Creek Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 2401 S.W. Green Oaks, Arlington, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to www.chennaultmuseum.org in Monroe, Louisiana. This was important to Doug because his father was a fighter pilot in the Army Air Corp in World War II.
