Erica wasn’t the typical 11 year old. She was very mature for her age. She always did well in school so that she would grow up to be a doctor one day. School was not hard for her, it just came nature. She loved art, reading books, listening to music, and playing video games. Erica also enjoyed cooking food with her mom and for her family. Her mother would always call her “Little Mother” because she continuously helped out in the kitchen. Erica would say, “look what I can do” and whip something up. She was a people person with an optimistic attitude toward life. When Erica walked into the room, everyone knew she was there. She would always make you feel better if she knew you had a problem. Erica was the kind that would change your life. She had a smile that could melt and iceberg, and an unforgettable laugh that would chase away all your fears. She truly was an Angel from above and had such a great spirit. Even though Erica was only with us a short while, the impact she made on other people’s lives will be eternal. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her survivors include her parents, Eric and Joyce Joyner; brother, Joshua Burns and fiancé, Dennys Silvia; 2 sisters, Kaleena Burns and companion, Eric Drinkuth, and Kristina Joyner and companion, Doug Blake.
