Gilbert (Gil) Alton Clark was born February 15, 1941 in Houlton, Maine. He is preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Helen Clark; and brothers-in-law, Phil Moran and Gordon Cook. He is survived by wife of 61 years, Mary Clark; children, Melony (Keith) Ebel, Kim (Kyle) Dailey, Tina Price, and Russell (Shannon) Clark; 8 grandchildren, Kolby Ebel, Kory Ebel, Michael (Baley) Price, Alicia (Aaron) Ingersoll, Blake (Maryssa) Dailey, Shelby Price, Kennedy Clark, and Reagan Clark; 3 great-grandchildren, Skyler Ebel, Preston Ebel, and Bennett Ebel; siblings, Gordon (Carolyn) Clark, Marie Moran, and Dorothy Cook; and many beloved extended family members.
Gil ended his 5-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Gil was an army veteran, a Mason, and a service technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 40 years. Gil was one of the longest choir members at Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas. He loved to sing in the choir, act in church musicals, cheer for the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys, and help people with their taxes. He was the star on church mission trips, helping youth and adults with their mission projects with his construction expertise and making everyone smile with his lovable and joyful spirit. His sisters love to tell the story of when he tried to be Superman as a young boy, wearing a cape as he jumped off the roof of his childhood home. He broke his collarbone that day, but he eventually lived up to his dream of being a superhero for all of his children and grandchildren. His cheerful, goofy, loving attitude made him loved by many and he will be deeply missed. His family would like to thank you all for all of your prayers and condolences.
A memorial service for Gil will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1200 W. Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76013. Rev. John Nader, Rev. Ben Disney, and his son, Rev. Russell Clark will be officiating the service.
