

Herman James White passed away peacefully on Fri., May 29, 2015. Graveside: Fri, June 12, 2015, 1pm at DFW National Cemetery with military honors. He was born in Port Leyden, New York and was the second youngest of 13 children. Herman enlisted in the U.S. Army, and served in the Korean War. Eventually he transferred to the U.S. Air Force, as a security police officer and then as a small arms instructor. He served in several locations, including Waco, San Antonio and Ramstein Germany. He retired in 1974 after 28 years of service. Herman then worked another 10 years in the civil service, before retiring for good. He continued living in San Antonio with Kathleen his wife of 60 years, both faithfully attending Mount Olive Lutheran Church where he was an Elder Emeritus, and his wife served as a church secretary. Eventually they moved to Arlington to be closer to family. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen and son Kenneth Harry White. Survivors: children Brenda Mastin, Linda Eichelberger (Jim) Robert Wayne White (Lori) and Kevin Charles White (Lori) ; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous good friends.
