Imogene Louise Lambert was born September 5, 1927 in Forest Hill, Texas to a very loving family comprised of her mother Velma Lillian Trimm, her father, Manuel Otha Wreay, her big brother Eddie, and her big sister Billie, who was her lifelong BFF.
After graduating high school, Imy went to work in the old Montgomery Ward building in downtown Ft. Worth and married Harry D Blissard. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Randy and Lezlie. Harry D and Imy owned a dry cleaner store in Mansfield for many years and Harry D was the volunteer Fire Chief of their city. Harry D was tragically killed in the line of duty leaving Imy a young widow with a college age son and a middle school daughter.
A few years after losing Harry D, Imogene met her second husband, Jim Lambert. Jim brought into the fold his grown kids, Lana and Alan. Eventually, they all married and had kids and grandkids of their own. While Imy loved fishing, building fences, and cutting down cedar trees, she was happiest when surrounded by her grands and great grands. Jim passed away in 2011 and for many years, Imy continued to live alone (except for her wonder dog, Bristol). Kids, grandkids and great grandkids were in and out of her house….just the way she liked it!
Imy passed into God’s embrace early July 20, 2022. We are sad to end our earthly time with Imy, but believe we will meet again. In the meantime, we hold many wonderful memories close to our hearts. Memories of an exemplary grandmother, a kind and loving mother, a mother-in-law extraordinaire and a dear friend. Imy had a sign in her house that said “I’m not lucky; I’m blessed!” That about sums up how we all feel about our Mom, Granny, Imy-o, Imogene, or Imy. (She wore many hats and went by many names!) Missing Imy are son Randy Blissard, his kids Noel (Julianna), Aly, Cory (Kelli), and Austin (Katie), daughter Lezlie Lewis, her kids Todd (Kristin) and Hailey, bonus daughter Lana (Ron Macko), their kids, Kim and Kelly (Clay), bonus son Alan (Barb) their kids Christie (Bryan), and Dave (Rhonda). Adding to the list are Imy’s beloved great grands, Laney, Miles, Sam, Kylie, Caleb, Matthew, Elliot, Ethan, and Ash. Imy loved those great grands so much and they all adored their Granny!
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.moorebowenroad.com for the LAMBERT family.
