

Jacqueline Ann Watkins Whitfield was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on August 7, 1938, to Jack Watkins and Artie Ellington Watkins. She graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Music.
Jackie was known throughout her life as an artist, teacher, pianist, and published writer. Art was one of her greatest passions, and she spent much of her life creating and sharing her creativity with others. As a teacher, she encouraged students to explore learning with curiosity and imagination. Music was also an important part of her life, and she was an accomplished pianist. She also loved writing and storytelling and was a published author of children’s books.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Whitfield, her son-in-law John Whittington, her daughter Cheryl Whittington, and her son-in-law Alan Miller.
She is survived by her children Derrell Tate (spouse Teddi Jackson) and Terri Miller.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Courtney Miller, Matthew Tate (spouse Leah Tate), and Lindsey Miller.
Her great-grandchildren include Cayden Randall, Kynslee Nance, Levi Tate, Maci Tate, and Liam Tate.
She is also survived by her brother Robert Watkins and his wife Lona Watkins, along with their children and grandchildren.
