James Donald Sims

James was born in Fort Worth, Texas on July 17, 1945, to Harold Clayton Sims and Alta Virginia Griffin Sims. He had three siblings, John Sims, Shirley Summers, and Michael Sims.

James served in Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany at the military hospital where he worked to assist soldiers injured in combat.

James was a successful domestic and international businessman with strong sales and management skills, but he also loved country life. Living the last 31 years in Weston, Texas on his land called Weston Trails. He loved animals of all kinds but had a special place in his heart for dogs.

James was a loving husband to Linda Gayle Johnson Sims for 49-year years and they enjoyed many adventures together. He was the proud father to one daughter, Jennifer Sims of Austin and one much loved granddaughter, Emme Sims also of Austin. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Martana Hanson and her son Laird Hanson-Felter of Prosper and stepson Jeff Hanson of Plano all who he loved dearly.

In addition, James is also survived by his sisters in law Donna Sims and Brenda K. Waite and seven nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the Family on Thursday, March 17, from 11:00 to 1:00 pm at the Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home. Memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial: Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington.
