Joe Bailey Swofford Jr. was born in Dallas, Texas, on March 5, 1959, and passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 67. A longtime resident of Arlington, Texas, Joe will be remembered with deep respect for the steady, honorable way he lived—devoted to his family, faithful to his work, and generous in the quiet strength he brought to those around him.

Joe graduated from Lamar High School in 1977. He later married the love of his life, Laura Davis Swofford of Arlington, and they shared 45 years of marriage marked by enduring partnership and care.

In his professional life, Joe was widely respected and admired as a leader in the Electrical Supply business. He owned and managed Swofford Electric Supply Corp for over 50 years, guiding the company with diligence and integrity until his retirement. His leadership was not loud, but it was lasting—earned through consistency, fairness, and the confidence he inspired in others.

Joe is survived by his wife, Laura Davis Swofford; three children, Trey Swofford, Tyler Swofford (Kailey), and Trent Swofford; and two grandchildren, Sebastian and Sullivan.

Away from work, Joe found joy in simple, well-loved pursuits: fishing, golf, and—always—his Pittsburgh Steelers. Those who knew him will remember the steady pride he took in the things he loved, and the calm, dependable presence he was to family, friends, and colleagues alike.
