

Service: A visitation will be held Thursday June 28th from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Rd, Arlington, TX 76016.
John was born September 14, 1921 in New York City. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in July of 1942 and proudly served in the South Pacific Theater until December of 1945. John made beach landings in Bougainville, Guadalcanal, Guam and Okinawa as a member of the 3rd Amphibious Corps Signal Battalion. After the war, John moved to El Paso, Texas and became a 25 year old freshman at the College of the Mines, which is now the University of Texas at El Paso. After earning a degree in Geology, John went to work for El Paso Natural Gas, where he spent his career working as an engineer/geologist in the petroleum industry. While working at the gas company, John met Anita Cadenhead, from Brownwood, Texas. The couple married December 20, 1969. John was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing trips to Arizona with Anita. In 2011, John & Anita moved to Arlington to be closer to family.
Survivors: John is survived by his wife Anita, sisters in law Jeanette Caffey and Doris Cadenhead, several nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
