Laura D. Schanbacher, age 62 of Arlington, passed away on October 19, 2017, with her family at her side. She was born on June 25, 1955, in Ft. Worth and grew up in the Mid-Cities area. Laura was the oldest daughter of Tony Alvarado and Julia Castillo.
Laura spent many years working for UPS, retiring after 20 years. She met Jimmy Don Schanbacher, and they shared 32 years together. In her spare time, Laura had a passion for music and loved to dance. She was also an excellent cook and loved to cook anything for everyone. She had a heart of gold and friend to many, of which she would never say she met a stranger. Her family and grandchildren were her pride and joy, all of whom will miss their “G” greatly. Family and friends will remember Laura for her motto, “Life Is Good.”
Laura is survived by her parents; her husband Jimmy Don Schanbacher; daughters Maresa Rojas, Jennifer Lopez and husband Ygnacio III, and Nicki Diaz and husband Venny; 9 grandchildren; three sisters and one brother; and many dear friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Laura’s life will be held at 2PM on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home.
