

Lucy Spurgeon, age 73, of Arlington, Texas went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 3, 2021. She was born November 1, 1947, in Fort Stockton, Texas to Nestor and Ophelia Calderon. Lucy was preceded in death by her mother, Ophelia.
Lucy was a wife, mother, grandmother, and relentless prayer warrior. Her unyielding faith in God’s power allowed her to impact others and effect change through intercessory prayer.
She was an active member of several churches over the years including, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Soldotna, Alaska, and for the last 30 years she served as a core member of the prayer ministry at Eagle Mountain International Church in Newark, Texas.
She also worked with the local chapter of Women’s Aglow and served as its Secretary for many years. She and her husband, Ronnie, were generous contributors to many other churches, evangelists, missionaries, and other causes.
She loved her God, her country, her family and her freedom.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ronald Spurgeon; daughters Deanne and Julie, and son, Robert; and 6 grandchildren. She is also survived by her father, Nestor Calderon and brother, Nestor Calderon, Jr.
Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Road, Arlington, Texas 76016.
Lucy was inurned in a private ceremony at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
