

Mary Dean Caldwell was born December 30, 1932 in Monroe, Louisiana to Tom Williams and Edith B. Williams. She was the youngest of 8 children – Ceola Blackstone, Olivia Williams, Stella Williams, Maude Williams, Thomas Williams, Andrew Williams, and Bud Williams. She was married to Herman Caldwell (deceased in 2003).
She was a loving mother, a survivor, courageous, strong, supportive, resourceful and extremely resilient. She had many gifts – singing, sewing, hair styling, cooking. She was handy and enjoyed beautifying her home. She was a self taught interior decorator with exceptional taste. She loved to have fun and was known for her quick wit. She had a good sense of humor and her beautiful smile and hearty laugh would fill up a room.
She was loved by her family and everyone called her Mommie, even the neighborhood children.
She is survived by 6 children. Rosemary Abrams, Edith Horn, Tommy Abrams, Johnnie Abrams, Melernease Abrams, and Barbara Holmes.
She is survived by 7 grandchildren and over 14 great/great grandchildren.
Farewell our dear Mommie, you were a force to be reckoned with. We love you and will remember you always. Your work here is done.

A memorial service for Mary will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016.
