

Randall (“Randy”) Wade Erwin passed away suddenly on September 17, 2019 in Arlington, Texas at the age of 55. Randy is survived by his wife, Monika Erwin; his three daughters and their spouses, Jessica & Isaac Greenwood, Jennifer & Jeremy Houf, and Katie & Marcus Zinecker; his siblings, Tami & Lynn Rutland, Rodney & Sherri Erwin, Tara & Sam Wall, and Sherrie & Mark Miller; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Elliot Greenwood, Isaiah, Emma, Malachi, Ezekiel, and Ezra Houf, and soon-to-be Milo Zinecker. He is preceded in death by his father, James Richard (“J.R.”) Erwin, his mother, Ruth Anne Erwin, and his brother, Roger Erwin.
Randy Erwin was born on December 5, 1963 in Fort Worth, Texas to J.R. and Ruth Anne Erwin. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1983 and served through 1992 as a turbine engine technician and flight test inspector. Randy was stationed in Germany, where he met his wife Monika. They were married in 1985 and over the next six years welcomed their three daughters into their home. They relocated from Germany, to Washington, and back to Randy’s home state of Texas, where he and his wife lived until his passing.
Randy was the go-to expert in the Metroplex for inspections and repairs on small aircraft. He was a decades-long employee of Airbus/American Eurocopter. When he was not elbow deep in an airplane engine, he could be found cruising the Caribbean with his wife or cheering on his local sports team (go Rangers!).
Visitation: Friday, September 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Service: Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Moore Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road in Arlington, Texas.
Inurnment will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
