He was a retired Army veteran, having served his country during the Gulf War. He retired from the Army in 1997, after 19 years of service to our country.
Rick had one son, Rickey Wayne Dunn, Jr. and 2 stepsons, Bruce Hurst, Jr. and Preston Smyrl. Following his retirement from the army, he went on to own and operate a successful Pest Control company with his wife, Cindy L. Dunn, in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. They split their time between work and raising their 3 grandchildren. Rick enjoyed family, fishing, country music and spending time at the lakehouse.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy J.T. Red Dunn and Beulah Adeline Jackson Dunn; his brothers Tony Webster, Pete Webster and Rex Dunn; his sisters Georgia Whittenburg, Mary McClure and Kathy Buttery; and his son Jason Michael Dunn.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cindy L. Dunn; his brothers Jack Webster, Bo Webster, Judge Dunn and Danny Dunn; his sisters Helen McHenry, Faye Webster, Skeeter Dunn and Patricia Dunn; son Rickey Wayne Dunn, Jr. (Adam Torres); his stepsons Bruce Hurst, Jr. (Alicha Hurst) and Preston Smyrl; his grandchildren Sarah Smyrl, Preston Smyrl, Jr. and Maddie Smyrl.
A visitation for Rick will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Rd, Arlington, Texas 76016. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM, at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home. A committal service will occur Friday, October 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038.
