Rolo.. I think of you often and see things and people that remind me of you and our days together!! You were always like a brother to me and always protected all of us girls... I remember me you and Antoine were like the three Amigos.. Always going to Hooligans and then Waffle House.. Haha!! Those were the days! Then the night my car got broken into, you stayed there all night til I figured everything out.. So many more memories!! Oh and East Side Marios!! Where it all began, my first day as a hostess at 16 years old, you, Daniel, Mark and Todd put Beastie Boys in the main stereo and were playing football with potatoes!! I remember thinking "who are these crazy boys?" Not knowing all these years later I'd still be friends with you all!! And have loved every minute!! So many memories! Love you friend and until we meet again you're in all of our hearts!!  -Mandi Shelton

I admired your integrity, devotion to your friends and family and your overall genuine soul. What I remember most about you and our time together Rolando is How warm and safe your hugs made me feel.  You were always so supportive of us all and got us through times when we needed it. We love you and think of you often.

The one thing I think about when I hear the name Rolo is that HUGE infectious smile.  Hope you are up in heaven watching over all of your family and friends down here my friend.

I miss you bro. It is still hard for me to believe that I won't be able to hear your voice. I know you are still watching over us, and we are still always thinking about you. Mikaela turned 15 yesterday. One more year and she will be driving thats scary. She has been working so hard on getting better at soccer her new team is in first place and will be moving up to D1 next year. She had a great game today. I am sure you already knew that. I am hoping she can make Varsity her first year in High School. Man that sounds crazy to say she is in High School. I still have pics of you holding her as a baby. Jackson's new team is going to be really good. They need a little work but Jackson is starting to come around. He had a pretty good game today. Cristiano is already taking shots on soccer goals and screaming GOOOOOOOAL when he scores. Cant wait to coach him in a few years. I will need your help to guide me on that one a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds...lol. You know how much patients I have that will be fun. It's ok I have a couple of years to prepare for that. I love you bro.

I am saddened on this day, a year from losing you from this earth. I know that we shared a Love for our God and therefor I will see you again. I imagine you peaceful and as  happy as can be in my visions of a heaven that is the most Beautiful place imaginable. I will continue to Pray for all of your family and friends; especially on this day.  I send my Love to everyone.

I just learned of the loss of your precious son.  I am so very sorry and can only hope and pray your faith and knowledge that he is in a better place and will be with you and Becky again, will ease your pain.  I know he is with you both each and every day through the wonderful memories you have. I wish I had known before now and could have contacted you then.

On my first trip to Bolivia with Rolito and his family we had gone to  Chulumani for a few days. We spent the day in the square and had a wonderful lunch that Gringos Mother cooked us. We did some walking through town and he asked if I wanted a snack to eat while walking around. I said fruit sounds good oh how about Papayas! Rolito just laughed and laughed, I asked what was so funny he said oh nothing. So he took me to a fruit stand and pointed to these huge fruits the size of large watermelon or 1 and a half soccer balls and said those are the papayas! I didn't know they were so big I hadn't seen them except cut up! Every time at the store I see papayas and mangos I think of him and his laughter and joking with me! I will always remember that day!

Mi Hijo  every day that pass I miss you  a lot, when I wake up in the morning I wish to see you again.

  No one expects to outlive their children, the pain and loss is overwhelming, we will never replace you son, acceptance and coping each day is what we hope to achieve. 
Yes, it's so painful to lose you, but the alternative would be to have never known you at all. That would be more sad. 
  Yes, you had a short life, yes, it would have been wonderful if you been able to have children. Was your life worthwhile?  Most certainly. You brought 36 years of happiness to your parents and you are an inspiration to your wife, family and friends who all saw your nice, courageous personality. 
  We will remember the happy times. And try not to grieve over how young my loving son was. I read the other day that today is a gift. Each day of life we have is precious and we must make the most of it, it is all we can do.

Queridos y entranables Rolo y Beckisita a sus 8 dias de la partida de Rolito quiero hacerles llegar mi mas profundo sentido de pesar no encuentro palabras para poderles expresar el dolor que invade mi corazon por esta gran perdida irreparable, pero tengan el consuelo que Rolto nos dejo para estar en una mejor vida y se fue como un angelito y ahora su alma esta en el cielo. Rolito our hearts are heavy, we miss you terribly.  Even though you were here on earth for such a short time, your loving legacy will live on.  You loved our daughter (Kimberly) unconditionally and always looked out for our other daughter (Kelli) and for that we will be eternally grateful.
