Thomas L. Craig Sr.

Thomas L. Craig Sr., 87, of Arlington, passed away January 16, 2023. He was born in Raton, New Mexico on November 30, 1935. Tommy graduated from Las Vegas High School and received his master’s degree in physical education and mathematics from Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM. Tom had a career in law enforcement for 43 years total and worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Concept, Inc., Santa Fe penitentiary, and retired from the Johnson County’s Sheriff’s Office in 2009 as Chief Deputy. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 3930 and had a passion for sports (especially Kansas University basketball, Dallas Cowboys football and watching the Texas Rangers), watching his grandchildren play sports, attending Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Events honoring his granddaughter Chazlee, going to horse races, and being with family. Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Craig, son, Anthony Craig, brothers, Harold Craig and Robert Craig, and sisters, Louisa and Violet. He is survived by his children, Sue Craig Davis (Jack) of Coppell, TX, Dayton Craig of Blanchard, OK, Garrett Lynn Choiniere of Arlington, TX, and TJ Craig (Dacia) of Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren, Craig Choiniere, Chazlee Choiniere, Patrick Schwab, Ashton Craig, Ryland Craig, Rachel Frazier, Joseph Craig, Jacob Craig, Amber Brown, and Cody Davis; and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his special niece, Becky Harper (Kevin) of Lawrence, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. A visitation for Tom will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016.
