Timothy Reilly Bates

Timothy Reilly Bates, age 63, of Arlington, Texas passed away on April 2, 2023. He was born on November 3, 1959 to Donnie Bates and Nancy Reilly in Dallas, Texas. Tim grew up in Grand Prairie and graduated from Grand Prairie High School. He married the love of his life Jean and from there on they settled down and started their family.

Mr. Tim will deeply missed by his family and friends. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved being a United States Navy Veteran after serving for 6 years and United States Postal worker for 40 years.

Once you were his friend, you were never forgotten. He will always be remembered for his kind and giving nature. He worked hard to make sure everyone was well taken care of and loved for the duration of his life. He enjoyed traveling with his family, playing and watching sports as a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, playing video games, reading, and spending time with his animals. His legacy will be passed down and lived out through the lives of his loved ones for the generations to come. May his spirit always live on as he is gone but will never be forgotten.

Tim was preceded in death by: his Mother Nancy Kathryn Reilly, Step-Mother Ila Sue Bates, and youngest brother Michael P. Bates. Tim was survived by his Father Donnie Bates, beloved Wife of 42 years Jean Bates, Daughters: Shannon Kranzberg and Leah Bates, Siblings: Donna Jones and Richard Bates, Son in Law: Mike Kranzberg, Grandchildren: Alexis, Deven, and Justin Kranzberg, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A private graveside service and memorial will be held to honor and celebrate his life, and at a later date a wake will be held.
