Wanda Clark, age 90, of Arlington, Texas, departed this earth for her heavenly home on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Exactly seven months after losing the love of her life on December 24, 2021, after 73 years together.
Wanda was born April 1, 1932, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Walter Dudley Horn and Lula (Loving) Horn. She grew up in Denison, Texas, where she met a handsome airman while he was stationed there. Earl became the love of her life and they were married August 12, 1948. Together they raised five children, all born by the time she was 26, which may explain the striking silver hair she obtained at an early age. They were deployed across the country in many states as an Air Force family. Wanda was a godly woman who raised her children in the ways of the Lord.
After raising her family, she worked at Sanger Harris as a Clinique representative and at Dillards for Elizabeth Arden. Always dressed to the nines with make up perfectly done and that beautiful head of silver hair, she was a wonderful representative for the brands, but her pride and joy was her family. Earl, the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids would fill the home and she was always asking for hugs and sugar from anyone that would give em. Life at the Clark home was fun and entertaining, kids and friends loved the time spent with Wanda. A beautiful woman inside and out. She’s been known as wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, friend, and to anyone who emailed with her ...Wonderful Wanda.
Wanda and Earl loved to travel but at times were known to fly into a place to look for a day and fly right back home because that’s where they really were the happiest.
Wanda was preceded in death by husband Marvin Earl Clark, parents Walter Dudley Horn and Lula (Loving) Horn, brother Bonnie Buel Horn, sister Essie Jewel Gage, brother Walter Lloyd Horn, and sister Rosa Doris Elkins.
Survived by: daughter Sherry Ortiz and husband Daniel Ortiz, son Johnny Clark and wife Karlos Clark, daughter Carol Ward and husband Danny Ward, daughter Janie Jicha and husband George Jicha and daughter Nancy Stipp and husband Bill Stipp, 8 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Wanda's life will be held Monday, August 15, 2022 at 2:00PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016.
