Barbara Vale

BARBARA (Bobbi) VALE, aged 85, of Pittsburgh, PA (most recently of Arlington, VA) passed away on January 8, 2017. Barbara was born in 1931 in Pittsburgh as the youngest child of Waclaw and Pauline (Rusinas) Walukiewicz. She attended grade school at St. Casmir's Catholic Church, and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duquesne University in 1954. Barbara then went on to head the bacteriology labs at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh until her retirement.

An avid socialite, Barbara enjoyed traveling and outings with friends, and was most often found at the beach if she had any say in the matter. She was an active member at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, and enjoyed attending church retreats.

Barbara is preceded in death by her siblings Al Valukevich, Leo Vale, and Eleanore Vale. She is survived by nieces and nephews Paula (Robert) Mack, Janice (Ronald) Artinger, Alan (Frances) Valukevich, Linda Valukevich, Susan Rausch, Cynthia Vale, and Leo Vale Jr. Bobbi is also survived by those to whom she acted as a second grandmother: Caroline Edwards-Mack, Joanna Mack, Jesse Mack, Daniella Vale, Matthew Rausch, as well as other family and friends.
