

Cherie Lewis Linko was born in Oswego, NY the daughter of Emory Alexander Lewis and Loretta A Kane. As an “Army Brat” she attended 6 elementary and 3 high schools. She is a graduate of Converse College, Spartanburg, SC and received a Masters from UVA. She was married to the late Stephen E Linko in 1969 and is survived by her three devoted children, Alex of Gainesville, Jonathan of Richmond and Jennifer of Oakton, and a brother Alex Lewis of Falls Church. She taught the hearing impaired until the birth of her first child. And after worked as a genealogist for both the National Society of the Children of the Revolution and for the past 16 years for the National Society of the Daughters of the Revolution. She was a member of the Arlington House Chapter, NSDAR for over 40 years and served as most of the Leadership positions. She served the State of VA as District V Director and State Registrar. Cherie served the National Society as a Museum Docent for 30 years. On Wednesday February 26th a memorial gathering will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday February 27th at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 2002 N. Randolph St., Arlington, VA. Memorial donations may be made to Operation Smile or the Little Sisters of the Poor.
