Lazarous Chitty, aged 43, passed away on February 19, 2025. He was a beloved son and a loving friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially the Fathers whom he served at the Missionhurst-CICM provincial house in Arlington, VA.
Lazarous was born on June 20, 1981 in Yangon City in Myanmar where he spent his formative years until the age of 17. Lazarous’ father died when he was three years old, leaving his mother Mary to be an independent career woman working at the US Embassy in Yangon. They eventually moved to the US and settled down in McLean, VA.
Lazarous was known for his hard work, dedication, passion for helping others and his sense of humor, always eager to share his enthusiasm with others. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. During his free time, he loved to exercise and cook. He was a deeply spiritual man and always carried a Rosary with him.
But more than anything, Lazarous was a very devoted son. He loved spending time with his mother and siblings, sharing stories, playing games, and watching their favorite TV shows. He was always at his mother’s side helping her with her shipping business. In addition to that, he was also a very dedicated cook for the Dominion House Fathers at Missionhurst in Arlington, VA. He was always so helpful to everybody, always ready to offer guidance, support and encouragement.
Lazarous is survived by his mother Mary, his sister Emma and his brother Richard. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
