Clinton Ray “Stan” Stanley, 74, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, June 7th, 2025. Born in Bay County, Florida, Stan was the beloved son of the late Bertha and Jim Stanley. He was preceded in death by his siblings Vasco, Ida, Mary, Marion, Cathleen, and Gene, and by his cherished son, Ray Stanley.
Stan is survived by his devoted wife, Bertha Stanley; his loving daughters, Mary Hernandez and Ana Lainez; his beloved grandchildren Matías Paredes, Jevin Thomas, and Henry Hernandez; his sister, Gloria Guyton, and brother, Jimmy Stanley. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members he loved dearly.
A skilled and hardworking maintenance engineer, Stan was known not only for his ability to fix anything—but also for his quick wit and memorable sense of humor. He could make anyone smile, often turning a simple repair into an opportunity for connection and laughter.
Stan was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting with close friends. He had a green thumb and took great pride in tending to his plants, which he nurtured with the same care he gave to those he loved.
We invite friends and family to “Stan’s Happy Hour,” a viewing and celebration of his life, on June 20th from 4–7 p.m. at Murphy’s Funeral Home. Beer, wine, and light refreshments will be served as we share stories, prayers, laughs, and cheers with him one last time.
Stan will be remembered for his humor, work ethic, and wisdom he passed down to others.
