Daniel Patrick O'Connor

Daniel O’Connor, 37, passed away at his home in Arlington, VA on August 14, 2025. He was born in Washington, DC, and lived his entire life in Arlington where he attended several public schools including Washington-Lee High School. Afterwards he attended The Benedictine School in Ridgely, MD for three years.

Daniel moved into his group home in Arlington 13 years ago and lived the remainder of his life there. He was a program participant at the Woodmont Community Integration Center day program for 14 years. At both, he was surrounded by people who cared deeply for him and who will hold his memory dear.

Daniel is survived by his father, David O’Connor, of Arlington, a sister, Katherine Colgan of Salt Lake City, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his loving mother, Betsy (Dunlap) O’Connor, formerly of Hartsville, SC.

A memorial service for Daniel will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22203.
