Dorothy Virginia Drach

Dorothy Virginia Drach, 91, passed away on April 29 at her son’s home in Arlington, Va. She is survived by her son, Don Drach, daughter-in-law, Ludy, and her granddaughter, Mary, of Arlington, Va., and many nieces and nephews. Born Nov. 22, 1922, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to William and Kathleen Herrod, she married Donald A. Drach in 1943, a career Army officer, and they lived as a family in Panama, Japan, Italy, France and Germany before retiring in Columbus, Georgia. She was a homemaker and longtime volunteer for Army Community Services. Visitation will be at Murphy’s Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson, Blvd., Arlington, on Friday, May 2 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Arlington on Saturday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. She will be buried with her husband, who died in 1984, at Fort Benning Military Cemetery in Columbus, Ga.
