

Ed Hochard, 79, of Pittsburgh, PA, Arlington, VA and Okaloosa Island, FL. died July 13, 2023 in Arlington, VA. Born on October 28, 1943 in Somerset, PA, he was the son of the late Russell I and Anna Mae (Barndt) Hochard. He is survived by his loving wife Eva (Leppo) Hochard, married on October 13, 1979. Ed was a proud member of the 1961 graduating class of Somerset High School. He was a member of Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, Somerset, PA.
Ed retired from the Federal Government, employed by the General Services Administration at the time of his retirement. During his career, he worked for the Interstate Commerce Commission and the General Accounting Office. He also retired from Safeway Grocery Stores.
Ed had many interests including photography, classic cars, wood turning, fishing and Pittsburgh sports. He was a member of the MG Car Club, Washington DC Center; the Capital Area Woodturners, the American Association of Woodturners and the B&O Railroad Historical Society. He loved surf fishing in the Gulf of Mexico at his home on Okaloosa Island, FL. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan following the Pirates, the Penguins and especially the Steelers. He enjoyed season tickets to the Steelers since 1973.
Besides his wife, he is survived by nieces Connie Bart (Adrian) Tulsa, OK, son Samuel; Carley Kruse (Bill) Kent, OH, daughter Sophie and Tammy Brant (Michael McGrath) Coraopolis, PA and nephew Craig Brant (Gail) Toledo, OH.
He was predeceased by his brother William (Bill) E Hochard, sister-in-law Marlene Miller Hochard, Ravenna, OH; sister Jane Lucille “Lucy” Brant and brother-in-law Dale H Brant, Somerset, PA.
