Edwing Alberto Lopez Reyes

Edwing Alberto Lopez, 58, an award winner videographer and longtime Virginia resident, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, leaving behind a life shaped by excellence, generosity, and integrity.

From humble Dominican beginnings to becoming a two-time Emmy Award winner, Edwing cared deeply about his work and about doing it right. He approached his profession with discipline, clarity, and high standards—not for praise or attention, but because quality mattered to him, a trait inherited from his parents. His success came from persistence, creativity, and continual growth.

To those he cared for, Edwing was generous with his time, steady in times of crisis, and someone you could always count on. He was selfless in his actions and sincere in his relationships.

In his interactions with everyone, he shared his strong opinions openly, believing that truth and clarity were signs of respect. He had little patience for unnecessary drama and valued straightforwardness in both work and life. Edwing will be remembered for his sharp mind, his strong principles, and the many ways he showed care for others. His legacy lives on not only through his accomplishments, but through the people he encouraged, challenged, and inspired.

Edwing leaves behind his lifelong partner (Marco), his mother (Crescencia), and his siblings (Franklin, Pablo, Atalia, and Kenia), who will carry his memory forward with love. He will be deeply missed by many and will be remembered with gratitude and affection.

Desde orígenes humildes en la República Dominicana hasta convertirse en ganador de dos premios Emmy, Edwing se entregó profundamente a su trabajo y a hacerlo bien. Ejercía su profesión con disciplina, claridad y altos estándares, no en busca de elogios o atención, sino porque la calidad era importante para él, un valor heredado de sus padres. Su éxito fue fruto de la constancia, la creatividad y un compromiso permanente con crecer y mejorar.

Con quienes amaba, Edwing era generoso con su tiempo, firme en los momentos de crisis y alguien en quien siempre se podía confiar. Actuaba con desinterés y construía relaciones sinceras y auténticas.

En cada interacción, compartía sus opiniones con franqueza, convencido de que la verdad y la claridad eran formas de respeto. Tenía poca tolerancia para el drama innecesario y valoraba la sencillez y la honestidad tanto en el trabajo como en la vida. Edwing será recordado por su mente aguda, sus principios sólidos y las muchas maneras en que cuidó y apoyó a los demás. Su legado vive no sólo en sus logros, sino también en las personas a quienes animó, retó e inspiró.

Edwing deja a su compañero de vida, Marco; a su madre, Crescencia; y a sus hermanos Franklin, Pablo, Atalia y Kenia, quienes llevarán su memoria adelante con amor. Será profundamente extrañado por muchos y recordado siempre con gratitud y cariño.
