In the quiet embrace of her 82nd birthday, Eleanor Patricia Marcey, fondly known as "Marcey" to her beloved family and friends, gracefully departed this world, surrounded by the warmth of her loved ones. Born Eleanor Sansalone in the heart of Washington, D.C. her journey intertwined with that of Calvin Marcey when they exchanged vows on September 30th, 1960 marking the beginning of a beautiful family legacy. Throughout their years together, Marcey and Calvin nurtured a family bound by love and devotion. Alongside her cherished husband Calvin, she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion. Together, they raised their children Timothy Marcey, Lisa (Brian) Sherry, Daniel (Trisha) Marcey, and Gina (Carlos) Martinez, each a testament to the love they shared. Marcey's love extended beyond her children, reaching her grandchildren Nicole, Kyler, and Hunter, who were the apple of her eye and the joy of her heart. Marcey's heart overflowed with love not only for her family but also for every furry friend she encountered. A passionate advocate for all creatures with paws, she dedicated herself to the art of dog grooming. Her skilled hands and gentle touch brought joy to countless furry companions over the years, including The Arlington K-9 and Pentagon Bomb Squad dogs. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 19th at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1910 N Randolph St, Arlington, VA 22207 with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Methodist Cemetery, 1500 N Glebe Rd, Arlington, VA 22207.
