

Betty Jean, as she was lovingly called, spend her youth in Camden, NJ where she mead many life long friends. She moved to Silver Springs, MD after her marriage to Doug Pelton. She so enjoyed her years of traveling the world, skiing and hosting elaborate dinner parties. After the birth of her son, Dean in 1990, he became the focus of her energies. She spent her free time as a chauffer and cheerleader for all his many activities. Her work as a legal secretary was one she loved and found as a great fulfillment in. In recent years, she discovered "duck pin bowling.' She loved playing and spending time with her new friends in the 'Sunday Night Miked League.'
Betty was an avid Washington Capitals fan and remained a loyal fan of all Philly sports. You could find her sporting one of her favorite teams t-shirts or jerseys.
Betty is survived by her son, Joseph Dean (Jenny) of Alexandrea, VA, her sister, Elaine (Michael) of Palm Harbor, FL. She most enjoyed being a loving grandmother to, Elizabeth Jane (Ellie) and Jackson Drew Pelton. Her nephews and nieces included, Albert Seidelmann, Kevin (Lindsey) Szczensniewski, Carl (Laura) Seidelmann, Cheryl (Ryan) Stephen and Kerri (Robert) Person. Many great nieces and nephews who she loved greatly. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Albert and Elizabeth (nee Curry) Seidelmann and brother Albert (Buddy).
A Celebration of Betty's life will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, Saturday May 9, 2026 1pm-5pm; 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203.
