James Reilly Palmer

James Reilly (“Jim”) Palmer (Age 81), a life-long resident of Arlington, Virginia, passed peacefully in his sleep at his home on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. He was a graduate of Washington-Lee High School, Class of 1955, and The University of Virginia, Class of 1960, where he was a member of the Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Virginia Knight Palmer, and five children: James Reilly Palmer Jr. (Belinda O’Neil), Laurie Palmer McManus (James Ferrare), Karla Lynn Palmer (Thomas Repke), Catherine Palmer Day (Matthew Day), and Adrienne Palmer Scribner (John Scribner); 15 grandchildren; and many dear family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018, at St. James Catholic Church, 905 Park Avenue, Falls Church, Virginia, at 1:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia 22201. Visitation will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia 22203, on Sunday, April 13, 2018, from 4-7:00PM.
