Katherine Jeanne Gavett

Kathy left us suddenly after a brief illness. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School and Orono High School. She went on to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business Administration from the University of Maine (Orono).

Kathy found her career niche early in life. After serving as a representative in the Maine State legislature, she transitioned her experience into working for various PACs (Political Action Committees) in the medical arena in D.C. An aficionado of antiques, cooking, and physical fitness, she relished researching nutrition and health related topics; this information she shared generously with others.

The sixth child of the late Andrew (Bill) and Stacia Gavett, she is survived by four sisters and three brothers: Mary Gavett-Orsi and husband Leo of Waltham, MA; Andrew “Willie” Gavett and wife, Betty, of Exeter, ME; Anne Gavett Sullivan of Acton, MA; Elizabeth Gavett of Newton, MA; Peter Gavett and wife, Shelley, of Daytona Beach Shores, FL; Stephen Gavett and wife, Susan, of Cumberland Foreside, ME; Patricia Gavett of Kennebunk, ME

Other survivors include Mary Noeth, maternal aunt, of Ayer, MA and several nephews, nieces, and cousins. Contributions in Kathy’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
