Of Arlington, Virginia, died Sunday, July 26, 2015, from a heart attack, surrounded by his loving family while vacationing in Duck, North Carolina. Matt was cherished by his wife, Sally; son, Peter; daughter in law, Kim; and beloved granddaughters, Elsa and Carolyn. Visitation will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA on Sunday, August 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 2609 N. Glebe Road, Arlington, VA, on Monday, August 3, at 11 a.m. Contributions may be made in Matt's memory to the Shakespeare Theatre, 516 8th Street, S.E., Washington, DC, 20003, noted as "in Memory of Matteson Scott".
