Michael George Dolgas

Michael "Mike" Dolgas, 63, of Arlington, VA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from a heart attack. His loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.

Mike was born in 1958 to Charles and Mary Dolgas in Johnston, PA. Mike attended Richland High School during which time he tackled his first full build by constructing the principal's garage. His interest in working with his hands led him to an occupation in land development, designing, and building custom homes. Shortly after Mike moved to Arlington in 1988 he met his life partner Mark Middendorf. He and Mark established Premier Development (custom home design/construction) in 1993. Mike found great pride and accomplishment in designing and building his client's dream home. Mike's second business was awarded "Best New Business in Falls Church, VA" when he opened Falls Church Cabinetry in 2006.

Anyone who got to know Mike, quickly realized that they were in the company of a kind and giving man with an off-the-wall sense of humor. He had an immense passion for cooking, baking, and enjoyed travel, you haven't lived unless you tasted his golabki or his nut rolls. When he traveled, he chose to vacation with a group of friends, and cruising was one of Mike's favorite types of vacations where he would make new friends with each trip. Mike usually entered a room exclaiming "Say, what's going on around here?"

Mike's family and friends will miss him more than words can say. Mike is survived by his partner Mark of 33-years, his sister and husband Billie Jean and John Butler; his brother and wife Chuck and Cindy Dolgas; sister and husband Sandy and Sam Morris; Mark's father Bill Middendorf, brother and wife Michael and Joanne Middendorf; sister and husband Colleen and Trey McCann; and sister Tish Middendorf; and beloved pet Chestnut.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are being accepted to help cover funeral expenses. There will be a visitation from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM and a memorial service at 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM at Murphy Funeral Home of Arlington.
