

Muriel Blomberg, age 86, of Arlington, VA passed away on September 9, 2015 to join Herbert, her beloved husband of 51 years and her sister Esther Staff and her parents, Christina and Oliver Nash. She is survived by her daughters Elody Crimi and husband Giles, Arlington, VA, Audrey Short and husband John, Manassas, VA, and Reverend Dena Lane, Mableton, GA, grandchildren, Adam Short, Christina Palm, Ashley Watterson and husband Heath, Rebecca Dietrich and husband Will and one great-grandson, Luke Watterson. She is also survived by her nephew David Staff and wife Barbara of Brockton, MA.
Muriel was well known in throughout her life as a talented church organist, starting with playing church services at the age of 12 until her retirement at age 75. She attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL as an organ major and was a church organist in Massachusetts and in Florida. Her love for music was carried on through her daughters and grandchildren, who all had various interests in music. She loved travel, including trips throughout Europe with Herbert and visited many cathedrals with beautiful organs. She treasured family connections ranging from car trips throughout the US to shopping and going out for lunch. She enjoyed the special vacations she shared with each of the grandchildren, one at a time. She adored her grandchildren and was excited to spend time with her great-grandson Luke (and was looking forward to the birth of her next great-grandson, Luke’s brother, due to arrive in January).
