Nancy Tuttle Fulton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2016, after a brief illness. Nancy was at home surrounded by her family’s love. She was a devoted wife, mother, and both a grandmother and a great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all. Nancy was born in Oakland CA to James H. Tuttle and Marion Claire Tuttle (nee Hinckley) and lived in California until she met and married the love of her life, William Bennison Fulton, (Lt. Gen., U. S. Army, Ret.), who predeceased her in 2006. They met while attending the University of California-Berkeley and were married in 1942 just before Bill departed to join the war efforts in North Africa and Europe. Bill went on to serve his country for more than 35 years, while Nancy devoted herself to raising their four children, Claire, Judith (Bruce), Bill Jr. (Lily), and Laurie (Larry). The family traveled extensively and Nancy made homes all over the country, always making them warm and welcoming. She was the consummate Army wife who supported her husband and children with tireless energy, love and devotion. As the children all grew up and left home, Bill and Nancy retired to Arlington, Virginia, to enjoy the home they loved for the next 40 years, golfing, gardening, and enjoying the miniature dachshunds that became like children to them. As grandchildren and great grandchildren joined the family, Nancy became Nana to her children's children and their friends. Aside from her children, she leaves behind her six grandchildren, Marcus, Robbie, Audrey, Andrea, Cade and Jake and her six great grandchildren Christian, Harper, Everly, Jake, Dillon, Liam and Sean. Nancy’s brother, James H. Tuttle, Jr., and her sister, Barbara Young, also predeceased her. Everyone in the family takes great comfort in knowing Nancy and Bill have reunited to spend eternity together. The family will hold a small service in Pocatello, Idaho, later in the spring of 2017.
