Sofika Qerama

Sofika Qerama (78) passed away on May 10, 2023 in Arlington VA due to a sudden stroke. Sofika, the daughter of Anastas and Androniqi Tasho, was born on March 11, 1945 in Korce, Albania. She was an electrical engineer who worked at the Tirana University Hospital Center, Department of the EEG for 38 years. During her career, she helped many people in need. She was characterized by many as a “force of nature” whose generosity of spirit and deep kindness rewarded her with a loving family and friends who will treasure her memory forever.

Sofika is survived by her husband of 53 years, Kostandin Qerama, her daughters, Erisela Qerama Montvilas and Mirlinda Qerama Caton, her sister, Afroviti Nepravishta, and her brothers, Spiro and Theodhor Tasho. She also had five grandchildren, and five nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Sofika will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Murphy Funeral Homes, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22203. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201.
