Vinicius Stephen McCulloch, 32, of Arlington, Virginia, died unexpectedly on April 16, 2022. Born in Brazil but a true Arlingtonian, he attended Glebe Elementary School, Swanson Middle School, Washington-Liberty High School (where he received an IB degree and was voted homecoming king), and Virginia Commonwealth University. He is survived by his father, Tom McCulloch, and mother, Mindel De La Torre - both now living in Bradenton, Florida; brother, Soufan Mos Ie of Arlington; grandmother, Patda De La Torre of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; aunts, Bib Hunsberger, Casey McCulloch, Phan De La Torre, and Debia McCulloch; uncle, Bob McCulloch; and lots of relatives and cousins.
A classic triple threat, he was an excellent bartender, wine sommelier, and horticulturist. Vinicius loved animals, plants, music, movies, and was a talented artist. He was a charming, witty, thoughtful, and passionate young man who was much loved and loved others wholly making them feel special with his wonderful hugs from a great height -- he will be missed tremendously.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, located at 2609 N Glebe Rd, Arlington, VA 22207. Donations in his honor for all the puppies he helped raise can be made to the Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue in Richmond Virginia at www.agprescue.org. In the alternative, donations can be made in his honor to The Trevor Project at www.thetrevorproject.org or to your own favorite charity.
In any event, Vinicius would want you to raise a toast to him and then go out and perform a random act of kindness to a stranger.
